A thousand years of royal capital beneath your feet
In 1010, Emperor Lý Thái Tổ moved the capital to Thăng Long and raised the Imperial Citadel — the seat of power for the Lý, Trần, and Lê dynasties across nearly 800 years. UNESCO recognized it as a World Heritage Site in 2010. Six stops lead you through the Đoan Môn gate still bearing battle scars, beneath the 60-meter Flag Tower, and down into the 18 Hoàng Diệu excavation pits where ancient palace foundations have re-emerged. Every brick here is a page of Vietnamese history.
