Walk through the birthplace of independent Vietnam
On the morning of September 2, 1945, at Ba Đình Square, President Hồ Chí Minh proclaimed the Declaration of Independence, founding the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. The Ba Đình district has remained the country's political heart ever since. Six stops lead you through the historic square, into the President's Mausoleum, past a humble stilt house among mango trees, and to a thousand-year-old single-pillar pagoda. Short but profound — each stop is a chapter in how Vietnam reclaimed its independence.
